Ductless Systems Could be a Solution for Your Home

October 17, 2015

A fully functioning air conditioning system is a must for Florida’s hot and humid climate. You may need to expand the air conditioning system in your home, but you are concerned about the expenses, or perhaps you don’t have enough space to install a system with ducts. Maybe you just don’t want to deal with the hassle of installation. A ductless system could provide the perfect solution for you and your home.

Uncompromising Performance

Some people are wary of ductless systems and worry that they might not offer the same levels of comfort and air quality as their ducted counterparts. This is simply not the case. Ductless systems also carry high seasonal energy efficiency ratios (SEER) as well as high seasonal performance factor (HSPF) ratings. They are therefore highly efficient systems that can provide effective heating and cooling for your home.

Reduced Bills

Not only can ductless HVAC systems provide great performance, but you can save on your energy bills as well. Ducts can result in energy waste because of leaks that develop throughout out the ductwork or at seams. You eliminate that problem with a ductless system.

Targeted Heating and Cooling

One of the major advantages of ductless systems is the fact that they are small, and can be added to any room or area at any time. This flexibility makes them a great option for zoning. You will be able to provide heating or cooling to any area that might either not have air conditioning, such as a basement, or in an area that might need extra conditioning such as an upper room. During the hot months, rooms on upper floors, for example, are harder to cool. A ductless system can provide zoned relief in such areas.

Historic Homes or Small Spaces

If your home has historic value, you won’t want to reduce that value by installing ducts. If this is the case, a ductless HVAC system is ideal. The same applies if you have limited space for expanding ducts.

Ductless systems are easily installed by just adding the unit high on the wall or from the ceiling. A small tubing connects that indoor portion to the outdoor unit via only a 3-inch hole in the wall.
